Our contest was held on November 4^th as part of the 10^th Annual Kansas City Pipe and Tobacco Show. The outstanding contest pipes were provided by Jacky Crean of Pipe Genod in St. Claude, France.McClelland Tobacco Company provided their Contest Blend and Pipe Show Online donated the tampers.The contest was organized and run by two UPCA officials, Vernon Vig and Cam Schutte.

In addition to the Champion’s trophy, the contestants were vying for four very nice prizes – two beautiful Genod freehand pipes donated by Jacky, one of the competition pipes from the World Cup held in St. Petersburg donated by Vernon, and a Larry Comeaux bamboo-shanked pipe donated by Cam.

Steve Fallon, who had never won a contest, was our winner.He had his best time ever and walked away with the trophy and a beautiful Genod pipe.The runner up was Dave Houfek, a past winner of this contest.
