About Membership

The purpose of UPCA is to promote and protect the interests of the American pipe smoking community by encouraging and assisting in the formation of local pipe clubs and actively supporting their activities, including pipe shows and pipe smoking competitions.

There are currently 22 Member Pipe Clubs across the United States.  For a listing, meeting information and website links, check out our Member Directory. 

Each year at the Chicago Pipe and Tobacianna Show, we hold an annual meeting to facilitate communications among the clubs and to discuss matters of interest to the pipe smoking community.

We also enhance communications through a member-maintained profile available through this website.  Members may log in to update information about their club and even post photos of club activities.  These profiles are viewable in the Directory along with a Send Message function to contact any member club.

Each year we host a National Slow Smoke Contest which is also held at the Chicago Show. Pipe smokers from foreign countries travel to Chicago to compete, making the event an international one.
