We expect the contest this year to be bigger and better than ever, with registration requests coming in from the United States and around the world before the end of 2006. Truly this has become an international contest at the largest pipe show in the world.

The competition is conducted according to the rules of the International Committee of Pipe Clubs (CIPC) .

Contestants from UPCA member clubs will be considered for membership on the US National Pipe Smoking Team to compete in international contests.

Is there a "secret technique" to winning a smoking contest? Of course - smoke slowly!! However packing your pipe correctly is critical to obtaining a long smoke. See our Preparing to Compete pages to learn how.

A light Virginia based english blend.
A blend of several different Turkish Tobaccos are added to a base of Golden Virginia and combined with just the right amount of cool smoking Cyprian Latakia. A slight "pinch" of Louisiana perique rounds out the blend. The result is a very cool smoking and mild english blend, with a light natural sweetness brought out by the Virginias. A mild and flavorful all day smoking mixture.
